Owen - U3 Urban Studies

Meet Owen S. Maloney (he/him), editor-in-chief for PULSE’s 2025-2026 publication. He is interested in how the policies and structures of urban governance affect the world in which we live, with a particular focus on transportation, housing affordability, racial and economic segregation, and inequality.

Kasen - U3 Urban Studies

Meet Kasen Korstanje (he/him), managing editor for 2025-2026! Pursuing Honours Urban Studies, he is interested in the relationship between the social determinants of health, equity, and urbanism.

Charlotte - U2 Urban Studies

Meet Charlotte Alarie (she/her), layout editor for PULSE’s 2025-2026 publication. She is an Urban Studies student passionate about celebrating art as a means for community engagement, learning, and expression.

Noa - U3 Sustainability, Science & Society

Meet Noa Schleifer (she/her), one of the 2025-2026 returning editors. Noa is in her last semester in the SSS program with a minor in Urban Studies. Through her degree and time in Montreal, she’s explored how cultural and social dynamics shape the built environment, and in turn, how it shapes daily lives. As an editor for PULSE, she has expanded her knowledge through a variety of articles from fellow students in different disciplines.

Sonya – U3 Urban Studies

Meet Sonya Colliander (she/her) , one of PULSE’s 2025-2026 editors! Sonya is majoring in Urban Studies and double minoring in Sociology and Geographic Information Sciences (GIS). She is interested in critical theories of urban inequality, equitable urban policy, and the history of urbanism.

Noah - U2 Political Science + Anthropology

Meet Noah Gorczewski (he/him), one of the 2025-2026 editors. He is a Political Science + Anthropology student interested in transportation planning — especially the REM!

Charlie - U3 Urban Studies

Meet Charlie Brackenbury (he/him), one of the 2025-2026 editors. He is an Urban Studies student passionate about making cities more sustainable, with a focus on climate resiliency.

Arya - U2 Sustainability, Science & Society

Meet Yan Arya Cheuk, alias Arya (she/her), one of PULSE’s 2025-2026 editors! Arya is majoring in Sustainability, Science and Society (SSS) and minoring in Urban Studies. She is interested in investigating how to feed cities sustainably through urban agriculture, how local food places transmit culture to diaspora communities and how to accomodate urban infrastructure for societies with an aging demography.

Sarah - U3 Urban Studies & Statistics

Sarah (she/her) is excited to return to PULSE for her third year as Communications Specialist. She is passionate about using data analytics to improve our cities, with a particular interest in transit planning.

Henry - U2 Urban Studies

Meet Henry Déry-MacNeil (he/him), Communications Specialist for PULSE. As an Urban Studies student, Henry is interested in developing public transportation and urban spaces through community oriented practices.

Arun - U3 Urban Studies

Meet Arun (he/him), one of Pulse’s 2025-2026 Communications Specialists, pursuing Honours Urban Studies and Management student at McGill University. Originally from Vancouver, he is passionate about urban planning and equitable community development.
